Greetings from Maine! I grew up in Chicago surrounded by artists in my family so it was inevitable that I had the creative bug as well. When I was in elementary school, once a year a group of marionette performers would put on a production of some popular fable. I could have sworn those puppets were real! The fascination with the puppets have always stuck with me and it's sculpting character dolls that I love and keep coming back to. I'm also intrigued with time period dolls and with the whole primitive art movement. I enjoy working with natural materials and it allows me to make a variety of different art pieces. Whether I woodburn and paint furniture, sculpt dolls from papier-mâché or make wool penny's, I love the variety of materials that are available, especially old fabrics and buttons! I hope my work inspires you to try new things and always encourage your kids to create! It's the best gift to give!
